Media storage

C2 C4 How to choose the storage medium for your CD collection

The first step might seem obvious but is often neglected by many a shopper. You have to know how many records you have to store. To do this, count the number of records you now have and add the number of records you will buy : « x » records a year multiplied by the number of years you think you will keep the piece of furniture. The second step will be to choose between open or closed furniture. Since extensive CD collections require alot of dusting, it should be a good idea to store them in closed furniture. Which brings us to the third step, the choice of a style, which may be the step that concerns you the most. La Boissellerie offers you a selection of furniture varying from coffee tables to libraries, in all styles imaginable: Queen Anne, Shaker, Québécois, Contemporary and why not Gothic! This is where our craftsmanship in marquetry and carving comes into play. The fourth step will have you decide if you want to store your collection in one single big piece of furniture, several pieces of smaller furniture or a combination of furniture towers and other storage spread across the house. Finally, you'll have to consider organization. La Boissellerie offers five organization concepts, each adressing particular concerns .
The vertical or horizontal grid, the pigeon hole which displays records vertically or horizontally, and finally a drawer that permits the lower placed records to be better seen. Other problems can be addressed, so send us your challenges at : yvanv@boissellerie.com .
